The Place to Be

May 26th I started the best job on the planet. I am now a camp counselor again! YAY:) Last week we went through training week. We had plenty of meetings and "ice-breaker" games, and I am so excited about this staff. I know we're going to have a great summer.

We got to camp on Sunday evening and I met up with my best friend and Sara and a bunch of other girls that go to my church. There's 7 of us at camp from my church :)

The rest of the week (there's not much to tell about meetings other than funny videos and having coffee trying to stay awake) we were split up by things that we do, like each activity, music and skits and what we call family groups. Family groups are a great way to get to know other members of the staff. We share our testimony with everyone and spend time in prayer, song, and worship with the other family members.

Wednesday night, while we were split up in program and family groups, I was working with some other guys on music with my guitar in the common area of the assembly hall and as we finished up everyone came into the assembly hall through the common area. Someone started playing a song on guitar that everyone seemed to know but me. So they all started singing and linked together by arms while I was in the middle. I was so confused because I'd never heard the song before. But I don't listen to the radio, so that's no surprise. But the funny part of that situation was that they kept singing other songs. Eventually, I jumped in and played a song I knew on guitar and everyone else knew the words to it. It was fun, but they kept going and going.... and going. So i got bored (mostly tired) and put my guitar up and waited until I could go back to my cabin.

Thursday morning, I woke up and I was really hurting. For those who know me might remember that I strained my LCL in my knee. It was healed (I thought) before I went to camp but walking around every where really hurt it. When I woke up I was in tears because it was twice its regular size. It was bad! So, I called my mom later on and I was set up for an MRI on my knee. The good news is nothing showed up on the MRI but the bad news is I still don't have any answers on what's wrong. Anyway, I was instructed to keep on advil and keep my brace on and apply heat. But that night, we went to the Friendship II boat on the reservoir. It was a blast!

Here are a few pictures :) It was a beautiful and fun night of dancing and fellowship!

Training week was a success. Please keep the staff in your prayers as we go into this summer. Pray specifically for energy and patience for us. Also, for my knee!
